DMSC Housing G122-94

DMSC stands for the 'DSM Material Science Center'. One of the research units of the DSM Materials Cluster on the Brightlands Campus in Geleen. This research unit contributes, among other things, to: research, application- and product developments of companies.

The DMSC team was spread over various locations which needed urgent renovation. The working environment no longer met the current requirements. In order to optimize the work situation, there was decided to place the different teams closer together in two (renovated) high-tech buildings.

Project

The MJb team took responsibility for the complex project management, in which continuity of operations (despite renovation, the company had to keep going), safety, communication and quality were very important aspects.

The total project existed of 4 parcels:
1. Plot I: Phased replacement air cabinets per vertical zone (6 pieces);
2. Plot II: Replacement of existing fume hoods (on the lab rooms that cannot be rebuilt);
3. Plot III: Renovation of offices incl. middle zone layer 1,2 and 3;
4. Plot IV: Rebuilding of four laboratory DMSC layer 2.
